| 31.1 | Using Conversion Filter in Custom Cabinet | LEAF::SAHAGIAN |  | Thu Mar 29 1990 10:57 | 31 |
| | Creating online PostScript files:
You can now create online PostScript files through a menu item on the
CUSTOM menu.
To enable this feature you must:
1. Open the Communications Cabinet. Do a COPY LINK TO SELECTED OBJECT to
   the CUSTOM cabinet in the Communications Cabinet.
2. Paste the copy on your desktop. Note that this will supersede any CUSTOM
   cabinet you may have already created. If you wish to keep some CUSTOM
   features you may have developed, come and see use about including the
   proper info into your existing CUSTOM cabinet.
To use this feature, do the following:
1. Select the Printerleaf file to be converted.
2. Select the CUSTOM option in the item selected menu.
3. Select the FILTER suboption.
4. Select the POSTSCRIPT suboption.
5. Select the LN03R_PS suboption.
6. Wait. The postscript file will show up on your desktop as a foreign
   file.

| 31.2 | Was working great - now it's gone! | WORDY::P_DONOVAN |  | Thu Sep 06 1990 16:28 | 8 |
| | I was using this feature yesterday. Today when I opened my desktop and
    tried to filter a .PL file to a .PS file, the option was no longer
    avaiable. All I see is TEXT or GRAPHICS. Has this happened before?
    If so, how can I fix it?

    Thanks!

| 31.3 | Converting an Interleaf File to Straight ASCII | WORDY::SAHAGIAN |  | Wed May 29 1991 15:19 | 22 |
|  | Question:
How do you convert an Interleaf file to straight ASCII (without all the
unwanted parameters)?
Answer:
Use the following procedure:
1. Open the Interleaf file you want to convert,
    do a SAVE -> ASCII-Forced, then close the file.
2. Select the closed file and do a
       Custom -> Filter -> Text -> STRIPfilt
3. This produces a file called filename_output which
    is a straight ASCII file without all the "junk" that
    gets generated by the SAVE - ASCII command.
4. You can then go to your desktop directory and use EDT
    to pretty it up (add tabs, etc.) if you want.
