This morning's Boston Globe reports that Bull HN has purchased
Honeywell Federal Systems, Inc. (which most of us remember as Federal
Systems Division -- I remember it also as Data Systems Organization,
which would seem to date ME a bit 8^), thereby completing the buyout of
what was once Honeywell Information Systems, Inc.

The reported price was in the vicinity of $100 million. Annual
revenues are reported at around $10 million, though one wonders if the
concerns that caused Honeywell to retain FSD (possible disqualification
from government bids because of foreign ownership) won't reduce the
    value of this acquisition.

| The "new" French strategy is to buy into as much as they can, be the
business profitable or not, to grow market share in the U.S. The old
FSD group is fairly "worthless" in pull with the U.S. Federal Govt
these days but it does eliminate one more level of indirection and
further cuts ties with old mother Honeywell.

(and might help in local government sales such as state income tax
bureaus, etc. vs. the traditional DoD defense business.)
