descrete MES systems. It may have developed standard interfaces to
    robotic and AGVs.

I'm not aware of any standard interfaces available but plant floor
device integration is a big part of what BASEstar does.

FMC (maker of AGV systems) currently uses a VAX for a controller, so
maybe they have plans for Alpha? Contact [email protected]
You could also contact AGV Products, Inc., [email protected], which makes
AGV systems that run on WindowsNT on "any PC compatible computer".
    Alpha with FX!32?
Munck Automation Technology ([email protected]) has converted their AGV
software from a DEC based (PDP?) system to WindowsNT, so they may be
    another good bet.

Logan Aluminum, in Russellville, KY (just north of Nashville, TN) has
the world's largest AGV (carries up to four 30 ton aluminum ingots). While
I believe the AGV is still on a VAX, its part of an integrated plant
operation including Alphas with OpenVMS, DECmessageQ, Rdb, DECnet, TCP/IP,
PLCs (no Basestar, however), and touch-screen PCs using Visual Basic
on Windows 3.1 controlling stacker cranes, slitters, furnaces, etc.
NSIS did much of the software.
I'm not sure whom the current sales rep is, but try contacting Karl Rothrock
in the Louisville office. I'm sure he can find out.
