and there is a Jung(sp?) personality test on the web - it's teh one
the b-m test is based on... just getting AltaVista to look it up for me
as I lost my hotlist recently for no apparent reason.

| Thanks, but I have access to scads of such inventories and tests, both
hardcopy and online. What I am very interested in connecting with is a
person/group/firm who can administer such tools and interpret their
results responsibly and accurately. A pro, in other words, I guess,
who works with Digital to maximize employee value.

| I suspect they're all long gone -- "perquisite" employees like career
counselors, on-site healthcare personnel, HR personnel in the same
time zone, and administrative help were all designated as unnecessary,
and jettisoned.

| Perhaps you should call someone in Stow (MCS Learning Services)...
the folks that do Employee Training (Not Customer Training that was
recentl sold).
Try calling Jim Malanson in Stow or Rob Ayres who is VP of
Personnel for MCS which Learning Services falls under.

All of Learning Services has been sold, worldwide. Employee training is
now the province of D&L which I believe comes under the HR umbrella.

| I work in the Americas Development and Learning organization. We
handle employee training for the Americas, and are part of MCS, not HR.
Learning Services (or DLS) handled customer training. Hope this helps.

Hate to be cynical, but from what I've seen in the last few years,
if the employee isn't valuable, they're gone...
Other than being able to take courses, I see very little help in this
kind of area...

| I agree with -.1: I think your chances of finding this kind of service within
Digital in the U.S. are nil. The challenge is to find someone on the outside
who does this without charging $1500 or more up-front. I think such people
exist, but I wouldn't know how to find them.

| You may want to try a college or university.
Lots of college students have problems deciding what
they "really" want to do. Usually happens when they find
that quantum physics is not for them.
To keep the students paying tuition, the universities will
try to match the student with a career tht matches his
desires/abilities. I went through that process.

| In my case it did. After a few tests and some one on one interviewing,
the guidance counselor told me that I was good at languages, logic and
problem solving. He suggested that I take a philosophy course and a
computer science course (Fortran and Basic). Well, I ultimately made
A's in both courses, learned how to do interactive fortran using a
DECSystem-10 (KA serial 262) and found a vocation in selling labs. I
could get fast turnaround using interactive fortran while the rest of
my class used cards/batch. I was having the time of my life. Lots of
money for the three Ws.
Unfortunately, the prof found out and gave me a choice: either work for
the comp center as a programmer or get flunked. So the rest is
history.
