| | I implemented one for a customer. We use it for all problem tickets,
for all system management operations, for all system docs. We put
everything an operator or system manager needs- all with cgi perl
scripts. We collect disk stats, plot them with GNU plot. Real neat.

| | We use one called GNATS, which is GNU software. It's not bad. Available
via anonymous FTP from prep.ai.mit.edu. You can follow the links from
the IBG engineering home page at http://ibgmail.ljo.dec.com/ if you want
to take a look.
Another alternative is a problem tracking database which is included with
the Workgroup Web Forum product. See the notes file at PRAGMA::WGW.

| | Good goin', Jeff -- I was about to give the selfsame pointer. The cool
thing, imho, about using the Problem Tracking application in Workgroup
Web Forum is that not only can you enter & track the items in ONE
forum, but you can have a threaded discussion about 'em right next
door. One caveat, though: Said Problem Tracking app is not included
with the V1.0 kit -- but it's freely available, and easily enhanced.
