The plant is now owned and run by SCI. They are still a major
supplier to Digital and specifically Networks. The DTN phone system
was mapped to a new set of numbers. If your old contacts had a
DTN of 271-7xxx or 271-6xxx, their new number is 8-1-207-623-yyyy
(where yyyy is the same as old DTN). If their old DTN was 271-3xxx
their new number is 8-1-207-626-yyyy. There are SEETRA accounts for
some contacts (SEETRA is mentioned somewhere else in this conference).
Some even have Internet mail addresses scimail.sci.com that gets
delivered twice a day from Alabama. This all assumes the contacts
	still work for SCI.
Bill Burke is Networks Business Unit Manufacturing Manager and may
have pointers into the new SCI facility for your specific questions.
Larry Walker issued an Digital Internal Use Only memo this week to
Network Warriors in the field on supply issues along the subject you
are talking about. I will forward to you as I think it sharable inside
Digital, but not post-able here in this conference. It had wide
	distribution in Networks.

And just to cross the cross-references, SEETRA is talked about in
	4051.36, which references VTX (/inter=decwindows ;-) SEETRA .
Looking there I found explainations, registration info, and user
	lists. Happy hunting....

been involved with ASO's successful projects. Try Anna Wheeler as

I just tried this and it doesn't work. I also tried VTX <CR> and there is
no database called SEETRA listed. Did it disappear over the last two days or
am I doing something wrong?

This VTX page was apparently shut down for a short time, which is why I
couldn't access it. I can access it now, but can't find a directory of
user lists. (I tried all 4 topics on the top menu.) Must one be registered on
SEETRA to view the user lists?

| | Augusta is still functioning as a contract manufacturer.
Digital (mostly Networks) is one of these customers. All
purchasing has been moved to Huntsville, Al. All systems
reside on the HUMMA (Aka the big blue box) in Huntsville.
The only exception is MAXCIM which is used for the shop
floor. Quite a few (approx 100) people were let go. Others,
including myself, have left over the last year. Some of
these have managed to return to Digital.

I just met with some former ASO folks (now SCI) today. I was up in
the facility a couple weeks ago and it still has the "DEC" mfg "feeling"
to it, though there are considerably less IL folks than before. I expect
to be up there fairly regularly over the next few months.
