CA products, including Ingres.

| We were running a benchmark for a customer on an 8400 running UNIX 3.2B
and Ingres 6.4/05. After going through many hoops a CA support person
told me that Ingres was only certified through OSF 3.0 and the problems
we were having were because of the operating system version mismatch.
This was after many, many conversations and my repeatedly giving the
version numbers for UNIX and for Ingres. Moreover, CA did not even
have a copy of Digital UNIX 3.2B so they couldn't even do the port!
OpenIngres was supposedly in the works for AXP machines on UNIX as well
but there was no estimate of when it would be available. Perhaps the
Ingres liason could help push this through?

I have a *signed letter* from CA in the UK, saying it is supported
on 3.2 UNIX.....

I have just had a mail from an Ingres Salesman as below :-
apparently the -02 revision is necessary to fix some problems with heap
on Ingres & SMP Digital UNIX.

Subject: CA-Ingres for Digital UNIX 3.2.C
Graham, CA-Ingres 6.4-05-02 will be certified against Digital UNIX
3.2.C plus patches by the end of September 1995.
