The investigation into US Commerce Secretary Ron Brown's alleged
conflict of interest dealings has publically revealed AT&T Corp. and
Digital Equipment Corp. as companies he has given assistance to.
Senator Willima Clinger (R-PA) has raised the conflict-of-interest
charges and is asking for a further investigation.

Without getting into confidential or such details, does anyone know
what Ron Brown was asked to do for Digital and what he might have
    done? Public info only please.

There was an article in Monday's (5/15/95) Boston Globe regarding this.

It's a fairly lengthy article, but it mentions both John Sims and Bob
Palmer. Sims for allegedly using Digital stock as collateral to buy
into a business partnership, and Palmer for being invited to Latin
America with Brown on a trade mission in April 1994.

Bob Palmer did not participate in Ron Brown's trade mission to Latin
America in April 1994. And Palmer has not participated in any other of
    Brown's trade missions.
