    When I need Kinko's to print something, I generate postscript and have
    them print that.
    
    I don't see how the nearby presence of universities implies that they
    should have a particular version of software, especially (CAUTION:
    personal bias follows) that unusable, oversized, overpriced MS Word..

    Yes, taking postscript is a better idea.
    
    Kinko's does have MS-Word.  One of my issues was that at one location
    they were out of color paper and at the second, they had MS-Word, but
    an older version.  I don't think it is unreasonable to expect that they
    would have the latest version of the software that they rent.  Having
    the latest version (which has backward compatability) only provides
    more opportuntity for business.  The comment about the universities was
    to imply that they do a far amount of business and with three Kinko's
    within five miles, I thought it would be reasonable to get a color
    overhead from the 6+ month old version of MS-Word.
