| | The pointers seem to be somewhat - eh- scrambled today...
I know that there are jobs at ZSO (my site), so I went in
and welected Jobs by Site-> site ZSO
I was rewarded with: (drum roll, please!)
"Product Environmental Specifications from Engineering to Sales & Service"
A completely unrelated infobase!
I'll send mail to the maintainers...

    Lynn, I was wondering also.

I thought it might have been related to 3613.*, but maybe there is a
problem with the feed going into VTX as suggested in .1.

not as previously done FIND SITE ZKO

The qoutation marks make a difference.

| | I sent a note to GRIMLY::JOBS_BOOK and they said that those jobs have
been put on hold, effective immediately.

Make what you like of that! (And I'm sure you will)

Me thinks it's a case of "here we go again".

| | Good Afternoon,
Yes, several users have reported the same problem with
	keyword searches not working.
It seems, their systems were upgraded to the latest version
of VTX and the keyword function acts a little different now.
Put quotes around the keyword and it will work as expected.
In fact you will be able to use the up and down arrow key to
select the choice from the dynamic menu. Place highlighted bar
on selection (using arrows) and then press the select key.
The prompt "VTX Command" indicates you have latest VTX version,
so when you press <PF1> <7> keys the word FIND appears
	VTX Command>FIND
	examples:
VTX Command> FIND "DATE 9502*" all jobs opened Feb 1995
FIND "DATE 95021*" all jobs opened Feb 10-19 1995
or FIND "SITE ZKO" all jobs at site ZKO
FIND "SITE M*" all jobs at site starting/w M
		     FIND "JOB 26AF" all Account/Analyst 26AF jobs
or FIND "JOB 50AD MLO" all 50AD jobs at site MLO
FIND "SITE MKO 36*" all 36 MARKETING jobs at MKO
FIND "SRI 39" all jobs with salary range 39
Hope this helps,
Marsha

| |
My sources have confirmed that all jobs are "on hold" until
April. It appears that the company is doing everything humanly
possible to "control" expenses in order to have a reasonable
quarter. This makes sense, since our 3rd quarter is usually
the weakest in both sales(revenue) and profitability. We are
also experiencing more margin pressure due to the shift of
product mix from high margin to low margin products, and we
are discounting big iron more to move it.
These are the facts of life in this business today.

| | When I do a VTX JOBS_US, then PF1,7, I get the usual FIND, and I put in date
950222 enter, to get yesterday's job entries. I just did it, and it displays
3+ pages of jobs. No message about these being on hold...what gives?

| 3713.9 |  | BSS::C_BOUTCHER |  | Thu Feb 23 1995 15:45 | 3 |
| | I doubt if ALL jobs are on hold. Services is so far behind and has
such a strong need directly related to revenue that a freeze on jobs
would kill Q4 revenues in services. Let's not bail out first.

you can SEARCH (or click on the icon) the text of the jobs postings
    themselves.

SEARCH word at the VTX command prompt or SEARCH alone for

available at this time. The group I work for has some reqs open, but our
headcount is frozen (despite losing 2 people over the past few months).
Anyone calling will be told this, and asked to try again in July.
(BTW the reqs are for software engineers at various levels)

I`m haveing is that my manager keeps telling me that I don`t have any
