    Is there some problem with the Digital Notesfile? For the last couple
    of days, whenever I open it it says that there are no new notes. But if
    I do a directory last-1 I find there are notes that are brand new.

No, but you may have a problem with your notebook.  I suggest deleting the
entry for DIGITAL and readding it, then do a SET SEEN /BEFORE=9-DEC-1994
(or whatever).
