    I am a sales representative working with Walter Reed Army Medical
    Center.  They are currently being mandated to use a software package
    called INHERIT 670 Sequence Analysis System develped by the Applied
    Biosystems Division of Perkin Elmer.  The software only runs on Sun
    servers with Macintosh clients.  The application is a genetic database
    search system wich extracts data from complex DNA sequences.  It allows
    for multiple searches simultaneously, displays results for each search,
    and determines  and displays the relationships among searches.
    
    The customer would prefer to purchase a comparable software package
    which is Windows based with a potential to move to NT.  The
    current environment is Alpha OSF with Windows clients with a future
    goal toward NT.  If an application is available currently on OSF I
    think it would be considered.
    
    QUESTION:  Does anyone know which group within Digital could direct me
    to a comparable medical package?

    1-800-DEC-ISVN.  They have an extensive database of software vendors. 
    VTX IR is good for testimonials and references if you use keyword
