| | DECnotes thinks nodenames are only 6 characters -- even if they are really
longer.

| 3051.3 | | DEC:.thomas | The Code Warrior | Wed May 04 1994 16:11 | 2 |
| | DECnotes incorrectly parses an NCB (it looks for the first ":" instead of the
first "::") such that the DEC: namespace confuses it.

| | In an attempt to solve one problem, I have caused another. To those who care,
changing the attribute NODE SYNONYM from TRUE to FALSE on the DECnet/OSI
application NOTES caused Notes to display incorrect information in the
NODE::USERNAME field.
I will enter this note and set the attribute back.

and genericized the username . . .

| | I've recently seen several notes elsewhere where the author field is
    blank.

    How is that done ?

| | I expect that, on PC clients, it uses whatever you set
for some environment variable (USERNAME, probably).

Maybe I'll test that hypothesis tomorrow (PC's at work and I'm not).

| | It looks like the MAC client for PW Conferencing needs at least 1 character in
the Name field. My attempts to clear it out caused it to stop working.

| | Dave, does it consider a 'space' as a character? That way it would be
    blank. :-)

| | The short form "Mac" for the Apple Macintosh is _not_an_acronym_. It should
never be written "MAC". It's Mac or Macintosh. Never MAC.
