| | Anyone have an idea of which areas in the company are going to be hit
this time ? I'm not expecting to get tapped, but I've been tapped in the
past so who knows. Also, is this TFSO at all voluntary i.e. can
someone say "yo, over here!" and *actually* leave voluntarily ?

All the reductions I'm aware of at this time are involuntary. Nobody
    said "yo, over here!"

These cuts are impacting U.S. MCS Programs Group, Complex Solutions/MSS
and more. These groups supported the delivery districts in various
ways. Quite a few were project management resources use to define and
delivery complex delivery solutions to our large distributed accounts.

| | I heard NRO2 got hit. Last known, PC&S was the only Digital owned
dept. still in that bldg. One lone group in NR5.

Also heard this noontime, MIll sold, must be cleared out by THIS July.
    Anyone else heard this one?

My friend just got another position within Digital a month ago and he
(with his entire new group) have just been moved BACK into the Mill,
along with a few other groups with no 'leave date'. He talked to
Security at the Mill (not a great source. mind you, but...) and they
confirmed that some of the buildings were filling back up with new
groups. Doesn't make any sense to me but maybe it's not really a
    done deal?

    For what it's worth,

| | Had dinner a week ago with a friend of my at NRO, a contract person.
In short, NRO has been sold, some parts of it to Kodak, who will
continue to run those businesses, and stay at the building, so I hear
it. The LOS, catalogue outfit, stationary supplies, IMPACT, whatever,
are being sold to Moore Busines Forms located in Bridgewater, MA, some
70 miles away. As I hear it, and I stress that this is what I remember
of a conversation over coffee and dinner, all DEC employees have until
April 29th or so to find something internally, or get some TFSO
package. I believe Kodak has bought the New England Mailroom, the
Repro outfit and the Copy Centre... Meetings with all employees have
been held, there was more, but not exactly sure how much of it I can
publish... obviously, I have heard nothing through "official" spin
channels... and I am not sure whether or not Digital employees will
have some opportunity to work for the new vendors or not... gotta be
    careful here...
