From Livewire:
U.S. employees will notice a change in the size of their pay statement forms
starting in February. U.S. Payroll has reduced the size from 8 1/2" x
14 7/8" to 4 1/2" x 8 1/2" (folded in three sections). Minor changes have
been made to the form content.
The new form size and other changes will result in cost reductions and
improved quality.
o The size will comply with standard U.S. Postal Service envelope
dimensions, resulting in delivery improvements for those who
receive pay information at their homes.
o Paper changes will make the form 100 percent recyclable.
o Upgraded form-processing equipment will cut the form processing time
by about half.
The new form and technology will be used for 1993 W-2's.
For more information about these changes, contact Ken Bourgeois
(AKOFIN::BOURGEOIS).
