While I don't know the original content of topic 1586.0 (obviously, it's been
deleted), it would be my opinion that ASKENET is not the appropriate place to
post topics on "finding people and/or equipment".

Since you are not a moderator of the ASKENET conference, you might want to
check with one of the moderators of that conference, as I did, before making
such statements.

| | I'm the co-moderator of ASKENET Bob refers to; as it happens I'm
also a co-mod of DIGITAL. ASKENET's purpose is for inquiries for
which no other topical conference is suitable or available. I
felt that an inquiry as to where one could locate a piece of equipment
in the company, one which is apparently not a DEC product, was indeed
appropriate for ASKENET. I'd hesitate to recommend it for people
trying to find other people, though.

I never claimed to be a moderator of ASKENET. I merely stated my opinion
which, last time I looked, didn't require checking with anyone. Geesh...
Thanx, Steve, for clarifying when ASKENET may be an appropriate conference
for posting such requests for information. It was not clear in the base
note.
