    I understand that there's an on-line list somewhere of used equipment
    that is available.  I've heard it's called DIAL.  Does anyone know how
    to access it?

    To access DIAL in the US I use the following addition to my LOGIN.COM
    file:
    
       $DEFINE DIAL_FILE IAMOK::IEG$2:[IPSG_DIAL.REPORTS]DIAL_EQUIP.RPT
       $DIAL:==SEARCH DIAL_FILE
    
    To use, at the $ prompt enter:
     
       $DIAL "xxxxx-xx"  (where xxxxx-xx represents the part number of
                          the equipment you are looking for)

    DIAL is moving to VTX soon.  I've forgotten the exact date, but it is

     Look in  the VAX Notes conference:

             SALEM::DIAL

     It has all you should need to get into a DIAL account or data base.

     They said in there that they went to VTX August 2 but it didn't work
     when I tried it.

     Just a weekend problem I'm sure 8^)

DIAL will be available via VTX DIAL on August 19.  If you can't get to it, try

	$ DEFINE /USER_MODE VTX$SERVER DIAL::"""181="""
	$ VTX

The DIAL administration office is at SALEM::DIAL, DTN 285-2812.

Users who want to advertise on DIAL will still need a registered password
account.

    Also, don't be fooled into thinking equipment on DIAL is free. Some is
    close but for much you still need a CAR for items over $1K. Also, a lot
    of the stuff you get off DIAL comes in questionable shape and without
    all the pieces. It's not like ordering from IEG.
