1170.0. "DECpress" by MUCTEC::WENDL (The beautiful MUCTEC Cluster) Wed Aug 29 1990 07:16
Who is responsible for DECpress?
Does anyone know if "DECpress" would be interested in authors?
Would there be any "DECpress" support for authors (e.g. "DECstation
+ DECwrite at home")?
The following is true for Germany (only, hopefully!!!):
I tried hard to get some DECpress books (with price reductions?) via
Digital (DECdirect and others) for *personal* use (NOT cost center)
- without *any* success (no one knows, no one is responsible ... ).
Also I pity customers: they would have to pay incredible prices and would
have to wait eight(!) weeks, if they really would be insisting on
ordering via DECdirect (the books *are* in their catalogues, really).
By the way: getting other (non-Digital) literature is even harder;
it's poorly organized, to say the least.

| | Have you tried calling DECpress directly?
The US Phone book lists the following:
Coordinator (all these at BUO/E94) DTN 249-1536
    Manager 249-4435
    Editorial 249-4809
    Sales Manager 249-1498
    Production 249-1427

I dealt with them a few months ago concerning a European order - they
directed me to someone in the UK (can't recall the name now). They
should be able to help you.
