The British Gas account team is in the middle of a bid which will set
their Technical Architecture for the next five years. We are putting
together a day of presentations [in the UK] to back this up. We are
aiming this day at the five-year strategy level, rather than a day of
product updates. We have been let down by one of our presenters and
    desperately need the following:

A presentation to last for 1 hour to cover the following topics:

    DEC Vision

    Open Systems
o	Hardware and Software building blocks
    	o	Standards
    	o	OSI - DECnet Phase V
    	o	OSF
    	o	POSIX
    	o	Integration

    Distributed Computing
    	o	Cost of human resources
    	o	Client/server model
o	Compute power to be in the users' hands

    NAS
    	o	AIA
    	o	CDA
o	Office and integration with MS-DOS and OS2

| 951.1 | Doesn't sales have people to help with things like this? | CVG::THOMPSON | My friends call me Alfred | Mon Oct 09 1989 11:02 | 19 |
| I would expect that presentations like this are made all the time. Aren't there pre-made up slides and the like? I doubt that this is the place to ask for them though. What I would do is ask you normal support channels for help. They may already know of overheads and the like you can use. Failing that you can try the Marketing conference at NODEMO::MARKETING. Or you can take a look through ANCHOR::NET$LIBRARY:EASYNOTES.LIS for product related conferences in the areas you need to cover. Here is a start: Open Software Foundation SSGBPM::OSF 1845 OSF Information SMURF::OSF-INFO 2294 POSIX LIBRT1::POSIX 2213 DECnet/OSI Phase V ENUF::PHASEV 1544 I'm sure there are a lot more. | In the humble opinion of this marketing consultant, there is
no way you could do justice to all of those topics in one hour,
and there is no way anyone who doesn't understand those topics
in depth could pick up someone else's canned presentation and
        do justice to the material.

Being that as it may, this topic is really not appropriate
to this conference. As reply .1 points out, there are a number
of conferences that would be more appropriate. Anyone wishing
to help the topic's authors should please use MAIL to send
your offers of advice or help.
