HELP!
We are producing a proposal, putting the final touches to it tonight,
and have just realised that our Digital figures [profit, turnover,
no. of employees etc] are for 1988. Can anyone point us in the
right direction to get the 1989 figures NOW, and if that includes
UK figures, all the better.
Many thanks,
Kate Risdon

Why don't you look in the 1989 Annual Report which was distributed a
week or two ago.

If only it had reached the UK! Nice thought, though.

| 950.3 | Figures from the 1989 Annual Report | VAXRT::BRIDGEWATER | Thu Oct 05 1989 18:03 | 27 | |
From the 1989 Annual Report:
1988 1989
---- ----
Total operating revenues $11,475,446,000 $12,741,956,000
Net income (after taxes) $1,305,633,000 $1,072,610,000
Net income per share $9.90 $8.45
Total stockholders' equity $7,510,374,000 $8,035,673,000
Number of stockholders 103,162 99,084
Stockholders' equity per share $59.47 $66.12
Return on equity 18.9% 13.8%
Return on assets 14.1% 10.3%
Number of employees at year-end 121,500 125,800
I couldn't find a number for employee turnover. There are many financial
figures in the annual report, but I don't know which ones you want and
I'd rather not type them all in.
There are some figures on International Operations in the annual report
but there are no figures for the UK. A couple of figures for Europe
are shown in it, but I think they are a bit difficult to interpret without
presenting them in context.

Many many thanks, Don.
Those figures are just what we need.
What a terrific response!
