I need information regarding the company policy
on tuition refund and non-traditional University
Degrees. I had contact several Univesities who
offers non-trad. degrees by variuos means such
as portafolio assesment, credits convalidation
independent study, job related courses and
seminars, but I would like to find out if this
means for acquiring a degree qualifies for the
company tuition refund program. Some of these
institutions mention DEC employees as graduates.

JSR, sorry you still have not got a reply on this, my understanding
is that DEC will pay for job or career related courses, I think the
career related courses should be taken as part of a degree program,
and the degree should be one that related somehow to DEC business,
like in computer science or electrical engineering, or software
engineering and the like.
the best think is to check with your Boss before hand or with the
personnel dept. about this to make sure before you sign for the course
or the degree that that it is OK.
