Re: Summary -- OPS5 V3.0 Phase 2 Quality Review, held 1/6/89
Invitation -- OPS5 V3.0 Phase 2 Exit Meeting, 1/13/89
There was a consensus opinion that a second meeting should take
place to officially close Phase 2. This is because representatives
from CSSE and SDC did not attend the Quality Review. Thus, for those
of you in the area, there will be a Phase 2 Exit Meeting from 1:00 to
not later than 3:00, January 13, 1989 in the Bobcat Conference Room of
DLB5. Please consider this note an invitation to attend the Phase 2
Exit. Directions to DLB5 are presented below. Relevant Phase Review
documents will be modified over the course of this week as a result of
the Quality Review. Phase documents can be copied from:

Issues raised at the Quality Review were not substantial but will be
reflected in Phase Exit documents and plans. Discussion produced
changes primarily in the way pricing should be presented. The
chart showing competitive products needs to reflect Nexpert Object
(not VAX Decision Expert) and some adjustments need to be made to
pricing points of IBM's Knowledge Tool. There was a discussion as to
whether or not the V3.0 price increase was high enough. This resulted
in a consensus that the price changes as presented are appropriate.
Other items: we need to tell SDC that we want shipments of V2.2 held
once V3.0 is announced in order to force shipment of V3.0 for these
orders; the VAX OPS5/VDE differentiation chart contains an error
(rule eloquence); clarifying data should be presented regarding
European and GIA sales; there should be communications with managers
in Japan about their C based OPS and VAX OSP5 V3.0; I need to check
with Ed Services regarding any updates to the VAX OPS5 CBI training
product; and rather than "promote" the Cooper/Wogrin book, we should
"reference" it.
VAX OPS5 V3.0 Phase 2 Exit Meeting: 1/13/89, 1:00. Directions to DLB5:
1. I-495 to I-290 West.
2. Take 1st exit (Solomon Pond Road)
3. Bear left on ramp, turn left at end of ramp.
4. Take 1st right onto Donald Lynch Blvd.
5. DLB5 is ~1.5 mi. on the right (3 story bldg.).

VAX OPS5 V3.0 today exited Phase 2. Field test kits are
on the loading dock and will be shipped today.

DECwindows based VAX OPS5 to this milestone.
