| 24.1 | CEST at AT&T | HERON::ROACH | TANSTAAFL ! | Thu Aug 11 1988 08:38 | 18 |
| | I don't know if this will help, but....

    Just received a report on a new UNIX-based AI environment called
    CEST by AT&T. The follwing is straight from the report...

    "...It is a library of inference engines - inplemented as C functions
    that can be called from C programs - and a workbench of
    knowledge-engineering support tools..."

    Reading the paper is like reading Chris Wild's VAX$AI proposal to
    do just that in VMS. The only difference is that AT&T thought the
    idea good enough to implement.

    I don't know if CEST is 1) complete or 2) usable in ULTRIX or 3)
    a product as opposed to internal tool. If anyone has an iterest
    in CEST or VAX$AI, drop me a line and I'll forward papers to you.

| 24.3 | Nexpert on Ultrix | LISVAX::VALENTE | Joo Valente | Thu Aug 11 1988 16:10 | 15 |
| | I spoke today with Jean-Marie Chauvet and he told me that they have
    Nexpert running and available for Ultrix, same price and conditions
    as for VMS.

    As we can not order it directly with a Q number I'll tell the custommer
    the price and if they decide to buy, we or the customer shall
    negotiate directly with Neuron Data.

    Any other sugestions?

    (I will also post this info in Nexpert Notes file)
    Joao

| | ARNE, I THINK THIS LIST IS POSSIBLY OUT OF DATE - I UNDERSTAND THAT
    THE Q NUMBERS CHANGED LAST FEBUARY. I AM CHECKING THIS OUT AND WILL
    INPUT INFORMATION WHEN I GET IT.

| 24.5 | Are we ignoring AI in the Ultrix World?? | OSLVS1::ARNE | Arne Skaanes | Thu Nov 03 1988 14:54 | 12 |
| | There seems to be more and more interrest in the ULTRIX/UNIX side
    of AI. I Just got a request from a customer, that wanted to know
    what kind of AI-SW is available from DEC or 3.rd party on:
    	1) AI-shells  - ( nexpert, KC, KEE ???)
    	2) Prolog     - ( quintus ???)
    	3) OPS-5      - ( ?? )
    If anybode know what our response to this should be please ansver
    this note or drop me some mail.

    Thanks and regards
    Arne
