860.0. "dual redundancy power supply help" by EVTAI1::POUSSARD () Mon Mar 24 1997 09:29
	Hi,
I would know the exact mechanism of power supply redundancy which
      exist on the MIKASA/NORITAKE family.
The customer has 2 power supply H7290-AA and one small power
interconnect cable.
	First test
	----------
	- with or without interconnect cable.
If the machine is off, and we poweron only 1 power supply , the
machine failed and power off again, saying that there is a problem on 1 power
supply.
	Second test
	-----------
If the machine is on, and we disconnect suddenly one of both power
supply, then the machine stays on, independantly of the presence or not of
the interconnect cable.
	- Are those scenarios normal ??
	- What is the exact goal of the interconnect cable, and is it
mandatory if we want a dual redundancy power supply configuration ?

		Thanks for your help.
					Gilles.
