During a Fort Programming course I just gave in Austria for a group
of VMS/Rdb people, we found out that the Security Trading example
(using Positions and Names) refuses to work under Rdb for the simple
reason Position and Name are reserved words for this database.
This may explain why there was no script with the material for Rdb -
it was never tested for this database. We worked around it by replacing
these words by something else in the final PEX files, but it's a bit
of a kudge that way...

Hi Theo,
There IS an RDB script, as well as a complete package of training
materials specifically designed for digital to deliver. For a long
time I traveled all over delivering all configurations, and created
digital training materials.
They are stored in MARIN. Mike Kelley can get them to you. There is a
versios for APPLDEV, (includes concepts and facilities), a release 2
update, DESIGN courses. All have digital part numbers, setup scripts,
instructions and the proper trademarking, plus the slides are bitmaps
instead of whatever it was Forte used. The materials are the same as
the ones from Forte Inc content wise, just in an easier to deliver
format.

Larry,
The Concepts/Facilities I did find. The application Development only
had the case study modules (not the lecture ones). That's what was
on MARIN.
We'll keep looking (and make whatever I need. Forte Inc is less than
helpful in this case as all their material was made on Apple using
Powerpoint and they have (I quote "neither the time nor the resources"
to convert them or make them available at this moment - I thought the
PPT files were exchangable easily as DOC files. Apparently not).

Theo,
Have you checked with Patricia W.? The Application Development course IS
converted to Powerpoint. The fonts are reproducable everywhere, and the
graphics have been corrected and converted to bitmaps. I will call
Patricia for you. The analysis and design, as well as the APPLDEV
courses are finished, and are there for you to use.
If there is a need to have the system mgmt, advanced and EXPRESS
courses converted and or delivered, please contact Mike Kelley and let
him know. I would be willing to do either or both.

Theo,
I have the pointer to the files. They are on a nonpublic disk on
Marin. Send me mail as to where I could copy them for you and I
will be glad to move them.
Send your message to [email protected]
