6168.0. "Invalid Entity Structure" by SNOTTY::BARRY (Ploppy Sir, Son of Ploppy) Tue Nov 15 1994 06:08
Hi All,
I checked the conference and couldnt find a solution so here
goes......
I am registering two DEC wanrouter 250 on a customer MCC
platform as Node4 devices. One of the devices registers fine
and works fine, the other I have problems with. When
registering the device I received some kind of "cannot
communicate" message but unfortunately I havent the exact message.
I can contact the device via the CLI or via the map. When
I interrogate the device via the CLI I receive all the usual
counters and settings etc etc followed at the end (after
the Maximum Path Splits attribute) by the following
message :
"Node does not support this system specific operation"
When I click into the device via the maps I can again see
the lines/circuits/etc etc but I repeatedly get the "partial
registration" warning window. So, as instructed, I navigate
back up to the device and try and fully register it using
the options on the Operations menu. This selection then
produces the "Invalid Entity Structure" message window.
I have seen this behaviour in other Node4 devices and am
wondering whether it is a known bug and whether there is a patch
to fix it ??
(Btw - The device is in the same domain as the router which registered
correctly and appears to be fine...........thus indicating that the
problem may not be namespace/security related)
