In Munich we have 10 Customers who bought the DECmcc products ( 5 of them
the expensive PNM 400 ). The customers more and more complain that there
are no official update kits ( there are only some patches, which can be
delivered on demand, but only for a few problems ).
Many customers have invested much in MCC-procedures and use features which
will be available in NetVIEW perhaps in 1995 ( e.g. Datacollector, DECnet-OSI
Iconic Map interface ). Those customers want to use MCC for the next years,
but are dissatisfied that there is so little progress in bugfixing.
( Does not Digital claim that MCC will be supported for the next 3-5 years
? )
Are there any plans for MCC improvements in the future, or shall I tell the
customers that they have to live with MCC as it is.
( Convincing a dissatisfied MCC customer to invest in NetVIEW is very
difficult. )
