Unable to register DNA4 entity This would appear to be something simple, but I can't quite get a handle on it... I'm running OpenVMS V6.0 with MCC/EMS V2.3. I'm sitting in Reston, VA and I want to register a VAX 6000 running OpenVMS V5.5-2 in Irving, TX. I keep getting partial registration...? I can SET HOST to the Texas machine. I have setup proxy from the *target* entity to the MCC system and setup proxy from the MCC machine to the target... I've used the SYSTEM account on both sides. I can take a directory of the target machine, ie: DIR DOSB01:: and have checked the protections on the NET*.DAT files on the target... I've got WORLD:RE As for the connectivity, I'm going through a 56kb circuit on a Vitalink Bridge. There is no filtering, that I know of setup... If the Vitalink Bridge were the culprit would I be able to SET HOST??? Thanks in advance... /Mic Mic NM%VFOVAX::GALVIN

Mic, You don't need dns to do WAN stuff. However, what are you registering this remote node as? Is it DNA4 or DNA5? Can you do ncp to it? If so then register it by: mcc>register node4 .xxx syn xxx !must be in ncp database Can you ncl to it? If so then try: mcc>register node .xxx syn xxx just a couple things to try, brad... |
