4597.0. "ipReachability in T1.3.1 SNMP" by OTOOA::DUFF (Peter Duff) Wed Feb 24 1993 14:48
    Hi,

    I have recently upgraded my MCC software to T1.3.1.

    The following SNMP rule used to work for me in V1.2
    and I was wondering why it is not working for me now.

    create domain .europe rule eup001_ip_reachabilty -
      expression=(snmp .ip.eup001 ipReachability=down, at every 00:30:00), -
      alarm fired procedure = mcc_common:mcc_alarms_mail_alarm.com, -
      alarm exception procedure = mcc_common:temp.com, -
      alarm fired parameter = system, -
      severity = critical

    In T1.3.1 when I now do a "show snmp eup001 ipReachability"
    I will always give "up" status even if the node is not accessable.

    I know the IP notification poller is available but I need to trip
    off an alarm procedure when an SNMP entity is not available.

    Thanks,
    Peter

|  | I believe that this was a bug introduced between T1.3.0 and T1.3.1,
which has since been removed for V1.3.0 (which should be available shortly).
