    Hello,

On two occassions now my background recording process has stopped.
The log file had a "%MCC-E-QWRITERR, error writing queue file."
error message. The first one occured during the nightly backups
so I thought that perhaps there was some type of conflict between
the backup and the historian process accessing that file. The
second error occurred at a time when there was not any backup going on.

I cannot find this error message in the messages manual.

Can somebody explain the error message and give me pointers on how
to avoid this type of failure.

    Thanks

    Harry Kuhnen

The Historian uses a queue file to communicate between
foreground and background processes. When the background process
can not open this file it gives error.
I would check system limit on the number of open files.

| 4377.2 | which parameter | CGOOA::KUHNEN | Wed Jan 20 1993 14:48 | 12 | |
| I'm sorry but I am unfamiliar with which sysgen parameter this is and I
can't see one that fits from the sysgen manual.

The channelcnt parameter is set to 512 and using autogen with feedback
indicates that the system feels this parameter is high enough. The
process fillm is set at 135 and when the process is running it is only
    accessing 4 or 5 files.

    Thanks

| Sam is talking about the filelm, if you run mcc_audit it should
help you check if the system is correctly configured for mcc.
