Hi,
I've a question on the PA on Decrouter 250.
I know that there's a problem on v1.1, the "Show Statistics"
on the line doesn't work, I test the same function on v1.2-7
and it's work, to be sincere seems to me that it works TOO MUCH.
I mean that the "Show Statistic" on a line shows a lot of infos
and I don't know where it takes this info, surely not in NCP.
The NCP counters for a async line on Decrouter 250 are:
Known Line Counters as of 12-JUN-1992 11:12:51
Line = ASYNC-1
>65534 Seconds since last zeroed
0 Remote process errors
0 Local process errors
The "Show Statistic" shows these infos:
DECmcc (T1.2.7)
Node4 2mln62 Line async-1
AT 12-JUN-1992 12:18:44 Statistics
Examination of Attributes shows:
Duration = 59 Seconds
Outbound Utilization = 1.1 Percent
Inbound Utilization = 0.1 Percent
Average Outbound Block Size = 54
Average Inbound Block Size = 31
Outbound Block Rate = 3 Blocks/Sec
Inbound Block Rate = 1 Blocks/Sec
Count of Local Reply Timeouts = 0
Count of Remote Reply Timeouts = 0
Outbound Data Frame Errors = 0
Inbound Data Frame Errors = -- Attribute Not Available
Count of Local Buffer Errors = 0
Count of Remote Buffer Errors = 0
Count of Selection Timeouts = 0
Count of Selection Intervals Elapsed = 0
Count of Remote Station Errors = 0
Count of Local Station Errors = 0
Error Percent = -- Attribute Not Available
Outbound Bytes = 32634 Bytes
Inbound Bytes = 1244 Bytes
Outbound Data Blocks = 1126 Blocks
Inbound Data Blocks = 551 Blocks
So my question is, how it's possible to have the "Outbound Utilization"
(for example) without having the corrispondent "Bytes sent" counter
in NCP for this line ????
I don't feel confident to tell to the customer that this data are
reliable.
Thanks in advance,
Ciao Luciano

The seconds since last zeroed counter is latched. It need to be zeroed. The > indicates it is latched. >65534 This will skew the statistics. The back of the PA manual has all the calculations and sources of all the data for the calculation. If you work the calculations I think you will feel confident. They have been reviewed and checked extensively. Al | |||||

Hi,
I found like you suggest on the PA manual (appendix A, page A-3)
the calculation that I need, and I've understand that for DDCMP
and X25 line you have to use all the circuits counters for this
line, this's correct because you could have more than 1 circuit
using the same line.
Thanks a lot
