When navigating through the Iconic Maps, the map window repaints once
and sometimes twice before allowing user control. I don't wont to
sound picky, but it is anoying. Is there a reason for the repainting?

The additional refresh when navigating into/upto a domain has been
eliminated. The extra refresh for navigating into non-domains is
still there to work around a Gobe bug.
