Again questions about DECmcc for Ultrix .... In a Director to Director
    mode.

o How will work the DIRECTOR to DIRECTOR communication in Ultrix ?
Are RPC used ? What about with VMS ?

o What data are exchanged between DECmcc DIRECTORS :
o At the moment of Class creation ?
o At the moment of Object instance creation ?

    Thanks.
                                Isabelle.

| 1) It uses DCE rpc, which presumably is being implemented on VMS also
(but check in the rook::dec_rpc conference for schedule).

    2)
o What data are exchanged between DECmcc DIRECTORS :

    	- just the 11 parameters to MCC call, there is no other interface

o At the moment of Class creation ?

    	- all directors have local copies of the dictionary, we are looking
into how to subset the dictionary for sites that don't need it
          all.

o At the moment of Object instance creation ?

        - instances are registered in dns, which provides all directors
with the same info. A new attribute on the object is the
identity of the director that manages that object.

So are the other DCE components, although RPC is somewhat ahead in the implementation process. Wayne ex-DECmcc developer current VMS DCE CDS developer | |||||
