Renee,
My tests showed that setting a transaction to READ ONLY (versus READ
WRITE) does not change the performance of a query using the NSDS based
RMS gateway. I tested this with and without RMS Journaling and the
results were the same.
A long time ago I was told that READ ONLY would improve performance
because READ locks were less expensive. In a controlled environment
this made no difference at all in performance.
