needed documentation for the C pragma that controls alignment and how
to build a shareable library.  Could not find it on the CD-ROM Online
Documentation Library.

I explained to him that the UNIX O/S documentation CD contains the HTML
books that are also available on the internet at
http://www.unix.digital.com/faqs/publications/pub_page/pubs_page.html
and that the Programmer's Guide contains the information he needs.
