The AlphaStation 255 series requires a minimum of OpenVMS Alpha V6.2-1H2,
and I'd use V6.2-1H3, or V7.1 or later.
If the system is actually running V6.2-1H2 or later (though not V7.0!),
what status, errors, devices, etc., are reported "present and accounted
   for" by the system console.

| | Have suggested several things to him. Still not working. Looks like he
needs to upgrade to V6.2-1H3. Mark suggests he call the 9000 number and
order through them. I have asked in the vmsnotes about the procedure as
    well.

: How does he update to V6.2-1H3?
External folks order the CD-ROM from the Software Supply Business
(SSB) folks. Contact 1-800-DIGITAL, or the local reseller. You
must explicitly order the specific release required, otherwise you
might get a release such as V7.1.
Digital-internal order information is posted in 8.15.

As for the upgrade sequence, V6.2 can be updated/upgraded directly to
V6.2-1H3 with no intermediate stops. Various other upgrade/update
paths are posted in note 8.13.
As should always be mentioned (and seldom done :-), read the OpenVMS
installation and upgrade manual for the release, as well as the new
   features and release notes.
