| | lots of folks (customers in particular) have asked this question in
the past and during Decus events, and it was always *no* (yeah, maybe
in the beginning somebody thought it might happen).

The main reason for this is to read manuals/docs, but since also
OpenVMS engineering is moving with the crowd, a majority of the OpenVMS
doc will be available in .html format, hence the chances of getting a
bookreader out on a PC are very slim as far as I can see.

The V7.1 CD-ROMs contain a large number of HTML files.
Copies of the V7.1 CD-ROM HTML-format files should be available shortly
for those sites that need to access these files offline -- Digital sites
that have direct access to the internal network should use the existing
   docset web servers.
The most current copies of the documentation -- this site and these
documents are continuously being updated -- are located at:
	http://vmsnt3.zko.dec.com/
	http://axiom.zko.dec.com:8000/docset/
[If you are a Digital-internal site that is interested in mirroring
the docset site, let me know and I'll get you in contact with the
   right folks here in OpenVMS...]
Customer-accessable HTML-format documentation files are located at:

| | Not on the PC at home. Ideally when I'm providing support fom hom I
just want to slot in the CD and lookit. With the 7.*1* CD (thanks for
the earlier correction) I'll be able to do that.

When I tried accessing this data I got the following error. I assume
a customer would get the same thing. How does one access this.

    >>> Browsing is not permitted in that directory

    >>>   HTTP status code: 403

    Thanks,

The external servers are temporarily down.
There is presently some administrative/legal wrangling being resolved.
No, I don't know when they'll be back up.
