3984.0. "osi transport problem on decnet/osi 6.3 eco 6" by GPLSYS::LAGORI (_- G.P.L. ....e` ecologico -_) Mon Jun 02 1997 14:19

Hi all,
we have a problem with our customer (Ced-Borsa), about
Osi transport, after we upgraded from decnet/Osi 6.2 Eco 8 to
6.3 Eco 6 on some Vax-vms clusters.

The problem happens when we use the stack osi (transport TP4)
and NOT if we use the stack nsp (transport NSP).

For example if we use
$ dir dscbe1::a.txt      or
$ dir Net$490005AA000400981421::a.txt
we get the error,            ==
else if we use
$ dir Net$490005AA000400981420::a.txt
we don't get any error. ==
(the detail of the error is on the next page)

As workaround we have suggest to the customer to remove the
Tower with transport 21 from the "Decnet_register" database, to
force the system to use the nsp transport.

Somebody can give us any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance.

Following is the detailed error situation and the display of the
Ncl settings.

We created this command file to spawn many subprocess.
$TYPE TEST.COM
 ------------
$AA:
$DIR DSCBE1::a.txt
$GOTO AA

If we give the following commands, we can cause the problem.

$ spawn/nowa @TEST
%DCL-S-SPAWNED, process FIELD_1 spawned
$ spawn/nowa @TEST
%DCL-S-SPAWNED, process FIELD_2 spawned
$ spawn/nowa @TEST

A.TXT;9
Total of 1 file.

...and so on for about 20 times, then we get the following error

-SYSTEM-F-LINKEXIT, network partner exited
