3971.0. "datalink xmit error on set host/mop" by GADWAL::W_MCGAW () Fri May 23 1997 16:33
Hi,
I am working with a customer that is having problems with MOP on a VMS
V7.1/OSI V7.1 node.
We booted up the system after switching from a DE435 to a DE500-XA and the
system came up correctly. DECnet/OSI and LAT connections worked correctly
but any set host/mop commands we try result in a Datalink Transmit Error.
The mop circuit (csmacd-0) is using the correct data link of csma-cd
station csmacd-0 and the correct Communication Port is being mapped from
the station entity.
A loop command from a terminal server hardware address or a Phase IV
physical address fails with the same datalink transmit error too. Running
a trace while trying the set host/mop only gave a single entry in the trace
which was a:
-----------+----+-----+-------+-------------------------------------------------
    Time |Evnt|Data |MOP |Data
hh mm ss cc| |Size |MsgType|
-----------+----+-----+-------+-------------------------------------------------
12:16:16.82| Tx| 4|RqID | 00 02 00
Each time we try the sethost/mop, the data field increments by one.
Does anyone have any ideas on what to look for?
Thanks,
