Greetings,
I have a customer who is migrating from a VAX platform to an ALPHA platform
and has a network application that utilizes the OSIS$SESSION call. On the
VAX platform there is a symbol in the OSAKSHR.EXE file, but I cannot find
this file or any other files on the ALPHA DECnet/OSI 6.2 platform that contain
this symbol. Any and all comments appreciated.

OSAK V1.1 was never supported on Alpha, and isn't supported VAX anymore (as of 7.1 of DECnet-Plus; OSAKSHR.EXE still ships with 7.1 but is unsupported on any platform, and won't ship at all with 7.2). The customer should migrate to the SPI (Session Programming Interface). SPI provides the same services (though it is a different API), and is available on OpenVMS VAX, OpenVMS Alpha and DIGITAL UNIX. --Scott | |||||
