3850.0. "QUESTIONS ABOUT AUTOCONFIGURE PRINCIPLE" by SOS6::MONZON () Wed Jan 29 1997 08:54
Hello,
Some questions about autoconfigure principle.So, a VAX Decnet/Osi
configured with address 0.0, will normaly replace, its area default value
49:00-40 by the area value of an adjacent router.
If the local area is greater than 63.
But, in case of troubles on the adjacent router, follow by a BOOT
on the system.The area of the VAX Decnet/Osi come back with the previous
value ( adjacent router ).
And, exactly ten minutes after, this area value is replaced by the
default value 49:00-40 ( If router doesn't come back ).
Why this change of area address and why after ten minutes ?
Routing Characteristics parameters modifications has no effect on this
scenario.
VAX/VMS 7.0 and DECnet plus 7.0
Any explanations will be hightly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
JEAN-LOUIS.
