I have a question about scanner. I have the following volume
volume pool written %used mode Location
tape.001 default 2404MB 60% appen TLZ6L
This tape has 7 days worth of data, 2 days marked as recov
and 5 days marked as brows
I did "scanner -iv /dev/nrmt1h"
The status on the save sets are now scann.
The volume nows shows as:
volume pool written %used mode Location
tape.001 default 2404MB 60% TLZ6L
The mode is now blank and NSR used tape.002 for the next backup.
Is this normal or do you have to manually make the mode appendable
after running scanner?
Also, How long will the scanned in save sets stay in the index?
Will they be marked recov after the browse policy which is 5 days?
NSR is v4.2c but I have also seen this on v4.2b.

(scanned in)
The save set was resurrected using the scanner command, and therefore
it is exempt from any status change.
