                THIS INFORMATION IS FOR INTERNAL USERS ONLY!!!

    In order to get permanent licensing authorization you will need enabler
    codes and serial numbers for NetWorker and its modules. To obtain
    enabler codes and serial numbers send mail to DECWET::ADAMS. Please
    provide the following information:
    --------

    Please send me an enabler code and serial number for the following
    NetWorker for Windows NT Alpha products:

    	Network Edition
    	Autochanger Module
    	Client Connections
    	Archive Module
        SQL Module
        Exchange Module

    NAME:
    DIGITAL LOCATION:
    TELEPHONE:
    E-MAIL:

    -------

    Please note that the Network Edition comes with ten client licenses so
    you do not need to ask for a client connection enabler code unless you
    have more than ten clients to backup. Also, if you have more than one
    server that you want to install NetWorker on you will have to request
    one for each server. The autochanger license you will receive is for
    support of any number of slots.
    -----------------

    Every enabler code and serial number is unique to the product and each
    authorization code is unique to the CPU and cannot be transferred or
    installed on more than one system. Instructions for registering your
    enabler code and serial number to obtain your permanent license
    authorization code will be given to you when your enabler code and
    serial number are mailed to you.

    When you register your products Legato will know that you are a Digital
    internal user. DO NOT GIVE THESE CODES TO CUSTOMERS UNDER ANY
    CIRCUMSTANCES!!! DOING SO WILL HAVE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES.

    If you need a loan of products for your customer you can order part
    number QB-560AA-LB and they guarantee a 48 hour turnaround.

    We will always attempt to get you enabler codes and serial numbers
    right away but certainly within 24 hours (except weekends and holidays
    of course!).

| 12.8 | NetWorker V4.2C for DIGITAL UNIX | DECWET::SDY | Look out!!..Support Rookie sez... | Mon Apr 21 1997 15:57 | 31 |
| | sorry for the delayed notice, my bad.
NetWorker Save and Restore V4.2C for Digital UNIX is now available
via the network. It shipped on the April 1997 LPCD
The kit can be found at:
   ftp.zso.dec.com  /pub/networker/kits/V4.2C      (ftp access)
   slugbt::/var/spool/ftp/pub/networker/kits/V4.2C (decnet access)
Documentation is located at:
   ftp.zso.dec.com  /pub/networker/documentation/V4.2C      (ftp access)
   slugbt::/var/spool/ftp/pub/networker/documentation/V4.2C (decnet access)
NetWorker Save and Restore V4.2C contains bugfixes and the new Hierarchial
Storage Management (HSM) module. Aside from the the HSM module (and relevent
documentation) V4.2C is equivilent to NetWorker V4.2B + patches #1-10.
Please note that V4.2C requires OS patches and a kernel rebuild (see the Release
Notes and Note 513 in this conference.) For this reason, it is recommended that
customers continue to use (or upgrade to) V4.2B UNLESS they require HSM
capabilities.
If HSM capabilities are desired be aware that V4.2C (HSM) will only run with
DIGITAL UNIX 4.0x + OS Patches. It will not run, or install on DU 3.2x.

| 12.9 | NetWorker V4.2C LPCD Documentation Error | DECWET::SDY | Look out!!..Support Rookie sez... | Mon Apr 21 1997 16:33 | 25 |
| | Please be aware that the DIGITAL UNIX Alpha April 1997 Online Documentation
Library Master Index, indicates that it contains POLYCENTER Networker Save and
Restore for Digital UNIX V4.2B. (not V4.2C as expected)
However, when looking on the cdrom itself, through decw_book/sysmgmt.bks (the
bookshelf/library contents in bookreader format) you will see that the docs are
for V3.2A (October 1995)
The kit and documentation found on the DIGITAL UNIX Alpha Software Product
Library cdroms (the LPCD) are (correctly) for V4.2C.
We understand that this may cause confusion amoung our customers, and we are
trying to rectify the situation so that future releases of the LPCD set won't
have this problem.
Until then, please make sure your customers understand that they should look on
the LPCD (Product Library) for the current V4.2C documentation NOT on the Online
Documentation cdrom.
thanks,
steve.
