    Would regular RMS maintenance on the ISAM files used by PATHWORKS make
    much of difference?

    First, the indexed files I'm aware of are:

    	PWRK$LANMAN:SHAREFILE.
    	PWRK$LANMAN:FATVOL.DAT
    	PWRK$ROOT:[LANNAN.DATAFILES]ACCOUNTS.LMX

    Others?

    Next, would the following simple operation provide benefit (assuming
    the file(s) in question were fairly volatile)? Obviously, this
    would need to be done off-line:

    $ ANAL/RMS/FDL <file>   			! Produces <file>.FDL
    $ EDIT/FDL/NOINTER/ANALYSIS=<file>.FDL 	! Produces <file>.FDL;2
    $ CONVER/FDL=<file>.FDL;2 <file> <file>     ! Produces new indexed file

    thanks,

    Paul

|     Yes,

    all the rms tuning you've learned is still valid here. Also check the
    retrival pointers, check hot files.
    Move files when you can like the uas file to a less loaded disk, make
    the file contiguass etc.
