Hi all ,
I would like to know if the following version of 5.0E is the good one to fix
the "Timer Problem in Streams Causes Errors Every 1192 Hours" .
From customer site :

I can see in the release notes on site :
4.8 Timer Problem in Streams Causes Errors Every 1192 Hours
Problem:
A timer problem in streams may cause non-paged pool
fragmentation or exhaustion and, in the worst case,
CLUEXIT bugcheck errors every 1192 hours.
Solution:
This problem is corrected in V5.0E.
Last Friday the 7th of february 18:43 the customer experienced the problem
of pool expansion and hang of the cluster.
This customer experienced the problem at the previous dates
(13-JAN-1997,20-DEC-1996...) .
This time the symptom is slightly different ,the cluster seems hang instead of
CLUEXIT crashes last times .
According to the customer , there was no other Pathworks server and Windows NT
servers on the LAN .
Thanks in advance ,
Michel CSC France

Michel,
1/2 of the problem is fixed in v5.0E. See note 25.6 of this
conference.
v5.0E eliminates the problems on dates 4-mar-1997, 23-apr-1997, and
every 49+ days thereafter...it doesn't contain the fix for the overflow
that occurred on 7-FEB, nor that which will next occur on 29-MAR-1997.
If you need the final fix before then, submit an IPMT.
Paul
p.s. This type of posting is probably more appropriate for the general
v5 server notes conference - noted::pwv50ift
