Hi, How can I configure the firewall - generic gateways - to let pass through Xwindows ? Xwindows has a range of tcp ports to use (I'm not shure, witch one's). Any help, will be most appreciated. Many thanks in avance Clia Correia

As I recall, X uses port 6000 + display, so if you're just using the standard display 0, a proxy for port 6000 should do it. PJDM | |||||

There is in fact an X relay (Xforward) purpose built to handle such
traffic. However it is NOT part of the ALtaVista Firewall 97, instead
it is deliverable by NSIS, who purpose build/configure it for
individual firewall clients. A search of this notes conference will
yield additional useful information on this subject.
