| | As I've been migrated to Exchange, and my VMS node is going away, I've
    just set up NetNotes.

However it appears the route through node I use will also go away soon.

what do UK users need for a route through node?
Must I use a route through node? I have Win95 with TCP/IP on it.

Greg,
Sometimes you can get to conferences via TCPIP, but certainly not all. Relies
on the node having a fairly new notes server and ucx installed.
If you get stuck you can probably route through nesbit.ayo.dec.com in Ayr. It
doesn't neccessarily have to be a very local system you route through.

E, who is REALLY frustrated with this whole process.

Doesn't need to be at all. You can keep your notebook locally on your PC and,
if I remember rightly, your notebook can be on ANY system with any notes
server if you are using a good route through node.
Someone correct me if this is wrong! I gave up keeping a VMS notebook years
ago and put it onto my PC, but before that I had everything working smoothly
something like this:
VMS system with OLD notes server
which I normally logged into to
	read notes on a terminal.
This is where my notebook resided.
		^
		|
		v
VMS system which was well looked
	after (standalone workstation!)   <---> DECNOTES!!!
and had a 'new' notes server.
I couldn't log into this machine.
		^
		|
		v
My PC running NetNotes. Which had
the route through node set to the
	standalone workstation and the notebook
	on the 'old' system.
There was quite a bit of messing around with the standalone w/s in the early
days but when that got fixed everything ran brilliantly until the standalone
box got neglected then assimilated.

No, I think it's in a different format! You might have to start again. It's
been a long time since I moved mine over - can't remember if I started again
or not.

| | I'm having the same problem, I can't connect to the VMS account. I can
connect to a conference on the same machine through a route-through
    node...

    Cheers, Laurie.
