Hi, the attribute "NrChildren" does not appear in the Objectclass-Layout Dialog of a compound object. Is there a way to make this attribute available so it can be assigned when defining the layout for a new compound class ?? LNX 3.0.8, OSFORA regards Andreas Huschka

Andreas,
The "NrChildren" attribute is a calculated attribute that will only
have a value when reading it from Aattribut Access, it is not Intended
to work in the ListMode windows.
So the answer to your question: No not possible.

Han, maybe I was not clear enough specifing my problem. I can assign this Attribut from the layout menu of a compound object (and it will show me the number of children of compound objects in listmode). I cannot assign this attribute in classprogramming when defining the default layout of a compound objectclass. So the question is whyt does this attribute not appear in classprogramming during default layout setup of a compound objectclass. regards Andreas Huschka | |||||

Andreas,
Yes you are correct I was thinking of the wrong things,
The attribute can't be selected in the default setting this is a known
limitation for 3.0.8.
3.2.2 will allow you to use this feature?
It is an answer to your question but if you are not satisfied please
sent a problem report on this.
Regards,
Han
