| | I wouldn't worry about the B's winning too many more games.

Look at the schedule, they still have to play: Sabers (2),
Redwings, Senators, Habs, Isles(2), Rangers, Panthers,
    Penguins(2), Devils.

Except for the NYI games, looks like a bunch of L's to me.

.... i'll tell ya, Carey ain't gonna make any friends the way he played
    in that 2nd period...JEEZ!! Two shots....two goals......UGGGH!!

oh well....was it me or what? The new scoreboard *still* ain't
installed yet? Did I see that right???? Coulda been the St. Patty's
Night celebrating by mac, but if so, what are they waiting for?
Didn't they think they'd make the playoffs this year??

Certainly THE surprise of the year are The Sabres.....they're really
playing solid hockey, with one of the smallest payrolls in the whole
    League....

I wouldn't mind seeing them go all the way, it's been a long-time
comin' for Buffalo & their fans....

| | Bruins were so out of position last night, have of em
weren't on the right bench!
IT was awfull,, I counted at least 5 times in the second
period where the only guys back behind the B's blue line
were Carey, the D, and a linesman,,,
you'd think with allt he crap going these forwards
would be back checking...
I can't fault Carey on those two goals in the 2nd,, B's
we're all goin individual, and nobody was checking.
pity, the out played them for most of the game..
Goals came easy for Buffalo, and Hasek never makes it
easy...

| | I watched the 1st period and some of the 2nd, and it if it
wasn't for Carey the score would have been about 5-zip Buffalo
by the end of the 1st. Countless times it was just Carey vs
the offender with noone inbetween - no D, no backchecking.
	Ridiculous!

| | Odjers got his face bashed to a bloody pulp...only to have the fans and
the Sabres bench erupt...It was Rob May's 2000th penalty minute. By
the way....Odgers officially has gotten into more fights than anyone in
the league this year. Honest! He's lost most of them too.

Bruins are horrible...but I still like this Anson Carter character,
he's got speed and good hands around the net. He just hasn't put it
all together quite yet. Allison blows.

    From the Globe:

    Boston defenseman Dean Chynoweth
was with the Islanders at the end of
the 1989-90 season when they were
    tottering along in another lackluster
season. If they lost their last game of
    the season against New Jersey,
    Chynoweth recalled, it meant they
would pick fifth in the talent-laden
    June '90 draft.

``I remember all the scouts being
there, and our chances of winning
    weren't much,'' recalled Chynoweth.
``On top of everything else, we had all
our guys up from the minors. It was
one of those drafts, you know, if you
picked fifth or sixth it made a big, big
    difference.''

    But they beat the Devils.

``So we got the sixth pick - Scott
    Scissons,'' said Chynoweth, breaking
into a wide grin. ``And Pittsburgh
picked fifth - Jaromir Jagr. You should
have seen our scouts the night we
beat New Jersey. Not a lot of happy
    faces, I'll tell you.''

Anyone have this Detroit/Av's game on tape I'd be willing to pay for a
copy of it. I didn't get to watch it but after checking out the ESPN
zone and the video clips on the web of this game I'm hoping I get a
chance to see a real hockey game....

This seems like it was a real game none of this pussy-footin' around
crap we see game in game out now-a-days.

| | Yep....and it was payback time for Lemieux's hit on Draper last year.

Late in the first, Larionov and Forsberg hit each other and then
started fighting.....Forsberg got bloodied....Lemieux started moving in
but McCarty decked him....Lemieux turtled and McCarty kept pounding
him...Lemieux got 12 stitches. Patrick Roy came in to defend Clod but
Shanahan grabbed him and then Vernon came in and took on Roy. Patrick
got the first shot in but I guess he forgot Vernon is a leftie. Vernon
clocked him....Patrick's face didn't look too good.

The rest of the game was full of penalties...these teams do not like
each other. The WIngs were down 5-3 in the 3rd but tied it up and then
won on McCarty's goal in OT. Shots were 47-19 Detroit....Vernon let in
    a couple of soft ones.

After the game, Bowman says that the whole fighting stuff could have
been avoided if Lemieux had of simply said he was sorry for the hit on
    Draper.

That was a hell of a game last night. You had to love seeing
McCarty slam ole' Claudes face into the boards last in that big
melee...and Shanahan's clothesline on Roy was straight out of
WWF Monday Night RAW! All the fist-a-cuffs aside, however,
the game was real fast-paced and exciting with a lot of scoring.
Detroit looked good coming back from 2 goals down and it looked
to me like Roy was exhausted towards the end of the game and in
OT....he didn't move too quick on the game winner at all.

Great Game, I'm glad I asked the bartender to shut the friggin Celtics
off and put on something worth watching...
