V.34 modems with the updated standards can go from 28800 to 33600 in
2400 bps steps. As in, 28800, 31200, 33600. (The higher rates are
virtually impossible in many locations.)
I guess there could be a modem that had half steps... but I've never
seen any.

BTW, I found the part number of a 33.6K modem (30-48515-01). Do you
know the sales part number ?
